Job Title: Purchasing Specialist
Job Duties: Develop efficient procurement solutions and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies. Analyzing industry and demand trends. Researching and identifying prospective suppliers. Liaising with internal project teams and maintaining strong supplier relations. Source new suppliers, ensuring that the purchased products and materials meet specific technical specifications, negotiating purchase terms, and evaluating supplier performance. Ensure timely deliveries and resolving any supply issues or discrepancies. Preparing proposals, requesting quotes, and negotiating purchase terms and conditions. Inspecting and evaluating the quality of purchased items and resolving shortcomings. Preparing reports and maintaining accurate inventory and procurement records. Complying with company & Gov’t policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Compile information and records to draw up purchase orders for procurement of materials and services. Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests. Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports, and price lists. Check shipments when they arrive to ensure that orders have been filled correctly and goods meet specifications. Do other related duties as assign from time to time.
High School Diploma Required? Yes
Qualification Requirements: At least an Associates Degree or higher educational degree. Minimum of 2-year work-related experience. Knowledge in building materials is a plus. Excellent working knowledge of purchasing strategies. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems. Team player with strong organizational skills. Willing to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends. Hardworking, can work under less supervision and must be able to meet goal target. Must be able to secure the CNMI driver’s license.
